At Ballencrieff Fishery we want you to have a relaxing and uplifting time. We want you to enjoy all we have to offer, the surroundings, the views and the quality fishing. While only being a few miles away from the nearest town, Ballencrieff Fishery gives you a chance to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere amongst the stunning scenery and brilliant wildlife. With only a short ramble you can literally feel lost and on top of the world and we recommend you try a short walk up towards Cairnpapple to sample the sunrises, the sunsets and the panoramic views.

We have a full range of permits available for fly-fishing and we know that the sport and vigour that our trout provide is second to none. With crystal-clear water and great oxygen levels we have a perfect habitat for trout and for the non anglers you can gaze at the wonderful bird life that the loch also houses.

The local town of Bathgate provides a place for nightlife including bars and restaurants and for all supplies the local shops are more than sufficient. The historic town of Linlithgow again has some great bars and restaurants and provides plenty to do such as tours of the palace and walks around the Old Town and loch. Both towns have rail and bus links to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Regulations

1. Check-in is at 12 noon or after on day of entry. We ask you to vacate by 12 noon on your day of departure.
2. In case of emergency please contact lodge on 01506 630808.
3. The accommodation is a no smoking facility and is therefore prohibited. Please smoke outside and use bin provided.
4. Car parking is at the near side of the main garage.
5. The main road gate will open automatically at 7.30 am and close at 10 pm. Fob operation is always on.
6. Refundable £25.00 deposit for fob/gate key.
7. No pets allowed.
8. Please be courteous to the main private residence. The area surrounding the house is restricted.
9. Ballencrieff holds no responsibility for theft or damages to your property during your stay.
10. Please be aware that this is a fishery and we may have anglers on the water during your stay this may include public use or pre booked corporate events.

Information

• Hot and cold snacks are available at lodge and can be utilised for a cooked breakfast or lunch.
• Fishing tackle can be rented or purchased at main lodge, depending on stock levels.
• Secluded fishing areas can be granted - please ask at the lodge for details.
